Traversing The Path

One Week In

Status Report

It's been a week since my official last day, and the experience has been disorienting, strange, and all-too-familiar(in its difficulties, mostly -- too many years of too much chaos in my life.)

With the worry that the bottom has fallen out, I look to good, or at least interesting, things around to keep me going.

With that, I've got at least one hearty recommendation.

New Music: Maggie Rogers' "Don't Forget Me"

Much anticipated, with two tracks released before the album and listened to about a billion times(mostly the title track) as well as some exciting live versions of songs to build up my excitement, I swear I cried through the entirety of my first play of "Don't Forget Me" when it dropped the other night. I haven't had such a powerful emotional reaction to a new album since Boygenius's "The Record" dropped, even the recent Waxahatchee(known to pull my heartstrings with grace and power) didn't get me like everything from the upbeat first moments of Maggie's masterpiece to the end of the title and final track bringing things home. "Sick of Dreaming" is the weakest track, still quite good, just not hitting home emotionally or sonically by a nose less than the rest of the album. With that said, A+++ real album of the year contender.

Well, having diverged already from its purpose as a pure tech blog, I'm gonna sign off this post and figure out what I'm doing. With this blog, I mean, much of the rest of life continues to be in flux. But hey, got some great music to carry me forward, check out her stuff if you haven't.
